I understand that adapting new fitness habits is difficult and often times can feel overwhelming. People tend to look at a person who they admire for their physique or physical achievements and think, I want to be like them! While this isn't a bad thing, I encourage my clients to think about what is inspiring them to want to make a change, asking "what do you want to do"? "What motivates you"? What is your "why"?
By identifying these personal factors, we are able to better identify what success will feel like for you.
My journey into Personal Training and Coaching was a part of a path to wellness that began years ago. I was working in a career that was mentally and physically draining. I knew that this was not the life that I wanted and knew that I had to make steps to make changes.
While working through my own depression, I was able to find personal empowerment through Strength Training. I began competing with the Ontario Powerlifting Association and the Canadian Powerlifting Union. Through my focus in the gym, I was able to grow mentally and physically, gaining confidence in my abilities (in and out of the gym). I eventually competed for Team Canada (yearly since 2018) and won the IPF World Championship M2 63kg in 2022 in St. John's Nfld.
Training has provided me with the resolve that I can undertake any challenge and succeed! I want the people that I work with to feel the same way. You can do ANYTHING that you set your mind to..
